Those interested in learning kyudo can sign up for “First Shot,” a daylong program held at AVA Gallery and Art Center. A free Kyudo Demonstration to introduce the First Shot program is offered on Friday, October 14, from 6-7pm. “First Shot” gives the beginner an introduction to the Seven Coordinations (Shichido), the basic form of kyudo, as well as the meditation aspects. The cost is $90 and includes instruction, use of equipment, and lunch. Adults and older teenagers are welcome. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Aya Itagaki Scholarship Fund at AVA. For registration, please visit AVA Art Gallery.
